Terms

Last updated 1 October 2026.

These terms cover murel.co: the guides and the waitlist. By using the site, you agree to them. The Murel app isn't open yet. It will come with its own terms, and we'll show them to you before you use it.

Murel is not a law firm

Murel gives legal information, not legal advice. Reading a guide or writing to us doesn't make Murel your lawyer, and doesn't create a lawyer–client relationship. Because Murel isn't your lawyer, what you send us is not protected by legal privilege. For advice on your own situation, speak to a lawyer licensed where you live.

What the guides are

Each guide explains the law in one place, from the official sources it links to, and shows the date it was last checked. The law changes, and every situation turns on its own facts, so a guide may not fit yours. Read the sources it links to and note the date.

Many legal rights have strict time limits. If you think one may apply to you, get advice promptly rather than relying on a guide.

When we get something wrong

Every guide is checked against the sources it cites before it's published, and checked again on a schedule. Mistakes can still happen. If you find one, write to hello@murel.coand we'll look into it and correct the guide if it's wrong.

The waitlist

You can join with your email address, and we'll email you when Murel opens. You can leave at any time. Our privacy page says exactly what we keep and why.

Using the site

Please don't use the site to break the law, try to break into or overload it, or copy it in bulk with automated tools. Don't present a guide as your own work, or as advice from a lawyer.

What's ours, and what you can share

The guides' wording, the site's design, and the Murel name and logo belong to Murel. The laws and decisions we quote belong to the public and to their official publishers. You're welcome to link to any guide, or to quote a short part of one with credit to Murel and a link back. Please don't republish whole guides.

Other sites

The guides link to official sources and other sites that we don't run. We're not responsible for what they say or do, or for their availability.

No guarantees

We work to keep the site accurate and available, but it's provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we don't promise that it's complete, free of errors, or always online.

Our responsibility

As far as the law allows, Murel isn't responsible for loss that comes from relying on a guide instead of getting advice about your own situation. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that the law doesn't allow us to limit, or takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Using the site after a change means you accept the new version.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. If you live somewhere else, you keep any protection your local law gives you that an agreement can't take away.
